Similar to most buildings in the far north, the Repulse Bay Community Centre is built on a foundation of steel piles driven through the permafrost to the bedrock beneath. The very uneven ground, large snow and ice build-up, and high winds coupled with very cold temperatures made the site installation very challenging. Nestled in a small Inuit town, the Centre will play and integral role in community life.
